Here is more information about FollowJesustoFreedom.com and about my part in it. I wrote this. I call the first part, Our Credentials. I got the job of writing it because I started this ministry. This might be a good thing to share with your Pastor. You can decide whether or not you'd like to do that.
Our Credentials
Follow Jesus to Freedom is Bible based and run by Christians. Our numbers vary, but there are several of us volunteering here, and we know many more men who minister offline in their local churches. They are not necessarily affiliated with our ministry, per se, but we know how to find them, because we have been in contact for years.
Those of us who volunteer at Follow Jesus to Freedom are not necessarily certified counselors or Pastors. Here is what we are – Christian men who have been delivered from habitual, sexual sin by our Lord, Jesus Christ. Wow! And we do love Him! But most of all, we are extremely grateful to Jesus for the great mercy, grace and love He showed by His blood sacrifice, and by bringing us to freedom.
We assure you in these areas:
Although each of belongs to and is active in his local church - we are pretty much spread through all denominations. We do not proselytize. We are not here for that.
We charge no fees. And we don’t sell anything but Jesus. We just hope to share that freedom; that's why we are here.
Freedom –
John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said, "There is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Rev 1:5 Jesus Christ..... He loves us, and by his sacrificial death he has freed us from our sins
Jesus quoted this prophesy about Himself:
Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be freed, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.”
On the cross - when He died that horrible death, He set us free! Free from our sins! He took them away! He is waiting for each of us to claim that!
Why is Follow Jesus to Freedom?
This ministry exists to lead men to a place where the Holy Spirit can do His wonderful heart surgery. A pure heart! That is our goal. On the road to there, we pray, and hope that we teach, Christ, total surrender to Him, and a quiet intimacy with our Lord Jesus.
We are sinners, saved by grace.
Those are our credentials.

Here is what Jesus did for me. It’s described in
Matthew 8:2-3 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said,
"Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean."
Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man.
"I am willing," he said. "Be clean!"
And He said that to me.
Having received such a blessing, it is very difficult for me to be a proud Pharisee anymore. I’m just a cleansed leper. God has shown me too much mercy for me to stand out in any way. That He would do that so overwhelms me that I spend a great deal of time kneeling at Jesus’ feet in gratitude, because not only did He save me, but he took my pride and love of self and set me free from bondage to sexual sin! I earnestly pray that I will be in His grip forever.
That's why I wrote the course at Follow Jesus to Freedom, and why I encourage and guide men through it. I've been doing this kind of work in different ministries since 2002, and it's still the best job I ever had.
Almost every man who comes here is a Christian. Oh, there so many out there who need His freedom! Thousands and thousands! The easy access to Internet pornography, and its cloak of secrecy - beckons Christian men, and before they know it they are in bondage to sin. Many of the men who come here are pastors or other kinds of ministers. They are just as vulnerable as the men in their congregations. We all are!
And this is truly about spreading Christ “to the uttermost parts of the earth.” We get to work with men who come from all over the world. Just this month, along with many, many men from the USA, we have had enrollees from 14 other countries! I counted them. God is sending men who desperately need to know that there is hope!
There are some really tough stories that these men have told. Some have lost their ministries, lost their wives, their jobs, gone to prison, may go to prison and worse. So many are desperately trying to save their marriages when they come here. Oh, so many!
When we men mess with pornography, we become progressively desensitized to it. What was repulsive to us last week, is very attractive this week. We're constantly seeking a higher high! And all the time, it's seductively dragging us down a steep hill; a hill that we don't even know we're sliding down until we're at the bottom, in deep muck and mire, and can't climb out! Lots of men have to CRASH before they finally look up and cry out to God. I did. So you know that I'm telling you the truth.
When a man comes to the www.followjesustofreedom.com site to enroll, he just fills out a uncomplicated form, that asks for his email address and his first name - simple stuff like that; nothing that would identify him to anyone but us. Very confidential. As soon as he is enrolled, he is assigned to an Encourager-Guide – another man who will walk with him through the course. Sometimes that is me. Sometimes one of the other volunteers...we take turns. But rest assured that whoever he gets is a man who has been delivered from habitual sin by our Lord, and that man is gratefully and humbly serving God by giving back.
The next thing the new enrollee does is email to get his first lesson. And then he completes the lesson, answering questions, interspersed within it. (Lesson 01.) When he finishes the lesson, he emails it to his Encourager-Guide. That's all. He should hear from his E-G that same day. Next day he does Lesson 02...and so on for 60 lessons.
During that time, he's going to get his mind cleaned and refilled with the word of God. His E-G will encourage him and give him tips and suggestions. The course will fill him with Biblical truths. Some of what we do is to gently push the student toward better habits. We'll give him both biblical and practical suggestions. (like "Get a filter" "Find and accountability partner", "Confess to another man", "Be sure to read God's word every day", and so on.) So he will change some of his actions voluntarily (for now). But what we mostly do is point him toward Jesus...and the real change comes in his heart, though Christ. When God changes the man's heart, He also changes the man's mind and his actions, for real! That's pure freedom!
How do we get him ready for the heart change? After the first nine lessons or so, the thrust of the course gets off of his sin and onto his relationship with Christ. Prayerfully, we hope that our students will find what I have been calling total surrender and quiet intimacy with Jesus our Lord.
